iCoachKids Scores a Three-Pointer with the German Basketball Federation
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed making Deutscher Basketball Bund the first National Federation in Germany to take the iCoachKids Pledge
On the occasion of the FIBA European Mini-Basketball Convention, and in the presence of the new FIBA Secretary General Andreas Sagklis, the director of the IBF, Florian Wanninger, and the FIBA Executive Director for Europe, Kamil Novak, DBB signed this landmark agreement with iCoachKids to support and promote The Pledge throughout Germany.
For the DBB, the Minibasketball Convention provided the perfect setting for formalizing cooperation with the iCoachKids program. By signing a joint declaration, the DBB is the first German sports association and also the first basketball association to become a "Project Supporter".
The purpose of the agreement is the mutual exchange and further networking of content and resources for the training of children and youth coaches. "At this convention Sergio showed again how valuable the work of this project can be and how many tools it offers. We are very much looking forward to the further development of the program and its application to our mini-basketball ", said Mr Wüllner.
Likewise, Dr Lara-Bercial acknowledged the importance of this agreement: “DBB is a model of best practice in the promotion of child-friendly sport and the education and development of coaches. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help us spread the iCK message in Germany”
