iCoachKids and the Inside Game Coaching Network Partner Up for a Better Youth Sport Experience
The Switzerland-based network aims to bring together youth sport stakeholders to support the development of not only happier, healthier and stronger athletes, but better people and future leaders.
iCoachKids is delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Inside Game Coaching Network (IGCN). IGCN is a Geneva-based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to change the mindset of coaching throughout Switzerland and Europe towards a more positive and mindful attitude, for the benefit of young athletes. The IGCN’s main premise is to promote and support not only the need to develop mentally and physically strong athletes, but most importantly, to develop strong people and future leaders!
This partnership is central to iCoachKids’ desire to reach as great an audience as possible. Project leader Sergio Lara-Bercial explains: “We want iCoachKids to be known to as many coaches as possible and to be used as widely as it can be. The Inside Game Coaching Network sits in a similar space to iCK and its objectives are very close to iCK’s. It was a no brainer. We are very happy to have signed this partnership”
The IGCN is the brainchild of Cindy Burwell, a former equestrian athlete, entrepreneur and mother of three elite performers. Cindy’s dream is to support, not only the development of great athletes, but great people. From that perspective the IGCN’s agreement with iCK is a great step forward as she explains: “We are really excited about this collaboration with iCoachKids, an organization that shares our values and mission to develop high quality coaching for kids”
The first concrete collaboration between the two organisations will be iCK’s support for IGCN’s Unlocking Human Potential Conference in Lausanne 1st and 2nd February 2018. This annual event was created to provide coaching education and practical resources for coaches of youth athletes that goes beyond what is offered by traditional coaching courses. The conference focuses on the non-technical elements of sport – the INSIDE GAME - such as mental preparation, managing emotions, self-awareness, coach-athlete relationships, positive coaching, communication, attitude and team-building.
iCK partner Kris Van Der Haegen, assistant coach for the Belgium Women’s National Team and Director of Coach Education for the Royal Belgian Football Association will be amongst a distinguished panel of presenters including Professor Jean Côte, Maureen Monte, Mark Milton, John O’Sullivan and Yassine Yousfi.
